wondering if this is possible. i do not want the double truss rod which comes with warmoth conversion necks.

so is it possible to order a neck without a truss rod from warmoth but routed for the traditional single truss rod and then get the truss rod installed by somebody else later?

i am sure the latter (installation of the truss rod is possible). but would like to know if warmoth would make such a neck without the truss rod but with routing for the traditional truss rod.

appreciate any insights.

Nope, see the website, and the shop tour for a deeper perspective.

What kind of neck are you hoping for, ie; Strat, Tele, etc...
Perhaps just the Total Vintage or Vintage Modern would be a better fit for you rather than the Warmoth Pro.

Otherwise, you may consider buying the separate components, ala neck blank, hardware from Warmoth, and a pre-slotted fingerboard from Stew -Mac, & take a shot at making your own, although, this is not for the faint of heart, it does take an extensive understanding of how all of these components unite.

I see there being too many instances for "something" not going right - even if you found somebody who would make the first part, nobody's going to want to touch the second part, taking somebody else's wood and putting in a truss rod. The only way to go here is with a full-custom neck, and there are far fewer people who are doing that than are doing bodies. Gee whiz - I wonder why?  :laughing7: I was sniffing around looking for a totally-FLAT fingerboard neck, as a platform for something else entirely, and it's not cheap.

Probably not possible to order without truss rod. You can order a total vintage or modern vintage neck with single rod from Warmoth http://www.warmoth.com/Guitar/Necks/TrussRods.aspx http://www.warmoth.com/Pages/GuitarNecks.aspx

oops sorry - forgot to mention that i am looking for a conversion neck which in warmoth terms is only 'pro'.

This is helpful info, which leads us to think that a custom built neck is your only option.
Only Warmoth could answer the question as to wether or not they would do a "one-off" build, so I would recommend that you contact them directly.
