I have never had a problem with this pickup, but after a gig (and some drunk metalhead spitting beer all over us a few times haha!!) I noticed that my bridge pickup (Super Distortion) started humming a lot. It wasn't like that before.

Now, the humming is still audiable when both bridge and neck pickup is selected, but not when only having the neck pickup selected...

I have gone through all soldering and checked that it all is in place, and it is, really solid soldering.

So, what has happened?

Sounds like the bridge pickup is losing a coil, effectively turning it into a single coil, which is always noisy. It's probably getting shorted at the series connection between coils somehow, perhaps at a switch if you have a coil cut switch, or perhaps internal to the pickup otherwise.

Yeah it's really an old super rusty one, so if it's starting to die, let it rest in piece... I already have a custom pickup order on the way, so I can take my other new Super Distortion and put it in the other guitar instead, win-win  :toothy12:
