...but definitely not my last. Cagey put this beauty together several weeks ago and I've been a bit lazy in making a thread for it. It turned out better than I hoped...best git I've ever had. Showcase parts...the neck isn't quite spec'd how I wanted but I'm still pretty happy with it. Probably try a 10-16 radius neck down the road. Other than that, perfection!

Specs

Body:
Chambered Black Korina core with figured Black Korina top (Black/Brown/Yellow Burst)
Contoured heel, tummy cut, forearm contour
HH pu config, direct mount (Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge pos and Dimarzio Fred at the neck)
Single volume and single tone (in positions 2 and 3...hate the typical strat volume position)
5way Megaswitch
Recessed Schaller Floyd

Neck:
Vintage/Modern construction
One piece maple w/Indian Rosewood 'board (nice subtle streaking)
Straight 9.5 radius, 1 11/16th nut width, standard thin profile
Black gloss finish
Cream dot inlays
TusqXL nut (trying to avoid the locking nut...will add later if I really need it)
Sperzel locking tuners (graduated heights, so no string trees)

My crappy photos...sorry for the reflections.

It really is a sharp guitar, and I was glad to be involved with it. I'm surprised we don't see more black (or non-clear, anyway) necks.

I'm always looking through the showcase thinking - man the black on these bursts is way too much. Someone's been looking at the Gibson paint department. But it really works here. Nice.

That is a seriously sexy axe.  Nice choices, to be sure.  Welcome to the Friends of Cagey club, as well.  He does nice work, don't he?

Thanks guys!

Yeah, tell me about it. Need more black for sure. I don't think I've ever seen more than 4 black strat necks at a time in the showcase. Trust me on this...been looking like a fiend for about a year now. Pretty much the reason I snagged this one even though it wasn't really spec'd how I wanted it. I almost caved and went a different direction but I'm glad I went with black in the end on this guitar.

Yeah, I get you but I'm kinda partial to the thicker black burst edges. Depends on the guitar, sometimes thinner is cool too. The next body I have my eye on has the thicker bb edge as well. Just works for darker guitars IMHO...

Thanks man. Yeah, Cagey does stellar work for sure. No regrets at all.
