Is there a reason that Warmoth limits itself to mostly 4 string basses. Theres the occasional 5...and the geckos come in 6, but i would be keen to have a 6 string jazz at some point.
There are 26 5 string bodies in stock, 110 5 string necks.
I would guess that the 6 string bass is limited to the Gecko because of the width & heel attachment.
The Fender pocket probably isn't suited for 6 strings. Since Warmoth is a replacement parts company they're probably limited on variations without primary alterations.
The Gecko bodies & necks are completely different from any of the Fender compatible parts.
I'm sure the 4 string basses make up the meat & potatoes of the bass sales, so there will be more available & varieties therein.

I think you're right in terms of the meat and potatoes - but im talking more the built to order stuff. Im sure there are many configurations you can do with warmoth builders that werent originally available as options from fender.
As an example...if i need a replacement neck for a fretted steve bailey VI bass, I couldnt get a warmoth.
Again...i guess form an economic perspective its not viable due to lack of demand.....Id be interested to hear from a company representative on this topic.
I think you might be able to get one done as a 1 off with a hefty upcharge. A rough eyeballing of the Fender Deluxe 5 bodies makes me think those aren't possible to move the bridge back an inch or have the Gecko neck route, but the Z 5 & Iceman 5 might possibly have the option. It's worth an email to ask what's possible.
