"Modern" strat pickguard

A suggestion for a strat pickguard with two potentiometers instead of the classic three. The current option (ommiting one) looks "strange" with no symmetry.

Warmoth makes them custom to order I think. you could ask them if they'd omit the control holes altogether and drill them yourself.  :sign13:

I'd use something like that, although I like the look of mine fine with the volume hole omitted.

Yeah, I don't see what the problem is with just drilling them yourself?

FWIW, I don't like your knob positions at all.
Strat pickguards look really weird and unnecessary to me with that little area at the bottom (treble side) jutting out with nothing mounted on it.
You need to keep a knob/switch/whatever mounted in the third hole to go with the flow of the pickguard shape.

The most popular answer in this forum: D.I.Y. If I wanted to do it myself I wouldn't start this thread!

The knob positions I presented was an example. Many companies since the 80's have made modern copies of strats. They choose two positions and they offer it to their customers.
You can't please everyone. But, anything would look more symmetric than ommiting a knob.

my last couple builds have had only 1 knob, volume of course, and it's been located in the middle of the normal 3 holes.

1, because the normal volume spot on a strat gets in my way

2, i never use a tone controll anyway

all my future strat builds for me will be this way

as someone said, order pickguards without holes and drill your own, ps,,,i like your 2 hole location

The knob placement here would be perfect. I'll order the first three myself if Warmoth could make this happen (without an upcharge).

I just don't have the tools or the workspace to do it right on my own, and have tried various alternatives (one volume only, Tom Delonge, omitting the first knob).
