A common misheard lyric in the song is "'scuse me while I kiss this guy". The actual line is "'scuse me while I kiss the sky". In fact, it has even been documented that Jimi Hendrix himself perpetrated this mondegreen by actually using it as a joke while singing Purple Haze live in concert,[9] particularly at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967. In Cheech & Chong's film Nice Dreams, the line is parodied as, "'scuse me while I kiss this fly". The mondegreen has lent its name to a site devoted to misheard lyrics, KissThisGuy

Hendrix does a version where he says "'Scuse me while I kiss that guy." too, as a joke.

My wife and I were on a trip to LA and I had SRV’s song Cold Shot blasting.  My wife reaches up and turns down the radio and asks me what he is singing.  I tell her, “that’s a cold shot babe, that’s a drag.”  She replied, “Oh; I thought he was saying Let’s Go Shopping.”  So that song has become officially know as “Lets Go Shopping.”

I woke up today trying to remember the main part of the Nipple Song.  Weird coincidence.

Elton John always has parts of songs where I think he is saying gibberish.  I think Benny and the Jets only has about 2 lines I can understand in the entire song.  Oh and the Stones Beast of Burden totally sounds like he's saying "I'll never leave your pizza burnin'." The funniest one ever though is my friend thought that Hungry Like the Wolf was "hungry like the moose."
