Duuuuuuude, how'd that aluminum bridge turn out....Did you ever mount it? :dontknow:
Cool, I've thought of doing one on my cnc, just for kicks when I'm bored...scartozi said:it's pretty much done.....all mounting holes and string holes drilled, still not sure if I want to anodize it black....guess it depends on the theme of the guitar it's going on. None of the current guitars I'm working on have the vintage string spacing so I'm going to have to wait till I have a body to mount it on. I'm either going to use a back rout body or design my own.....not sure yet. I'm probably going to make another one but with 2 1/8" string spacing. I'll try to get some pics posted tomorrow if ya wanna check it out.
Uhmmmmm.....what pics... :icon_scratch:scartozi said:DangerousR6 Here are a couple pics of the bridge....pics are taken with my phone soooooo.
As you can see I still have some work to do in the base to smooth it out. Maybe I can get it a little smoother with the copy router next time....wish I had a mill. I'm looking forward to doing the wenge bridge. I have some 3/32" pieces of aluminum I'm going to inlay in the pocket of the bridge for the saddle screws to sit on. So I just need my dremel router base and make my drum sanding station on my drill press. All of which will happen once I find out how to add more time in the day. :icon_scratch:
Oh for sure, it would look real nice... :headbang1:scartozi said:I know we have to have some around the shop somewhere. How do you think your cnc would do routing out the middle? Would it finish out fairly smooth with minimal finishing?......Hummmmm :icon_biggrin:
