I wouldn't be in a band with this particular dude.  Look at what he listens to, and is more than likely going to want to play; All Shall Perish, As I Lay Dying, All That Remains, Chimera, and Lamb of God...I wouldn't play that garbage.  They're all crap.  They're all a bunch of sorry-ass, no-talent, "trendy-Metal" acts.

People are bashing this guy but he's being up front.  Too many times people try to get others into bands to do stuff different from what they really wanna do; it's the same story as applying for a job running a machine, only to have an HR rep contacting you and saying, "Well, we have a call center position open that you'd love!"

For the record, I wouldn't play stuff I heard 20 years ago, either.  If you don't want to write your own music and develop your own distinctive sound, I don't wanna be in a band with you.  Period.  While I may be influenced by bands I listened to 20 years ago, I don't want to replicate their sound or "be" them.
