so i've got me one of those rear routed strat bodies with the pickup config h-s-s.
im having a guy in another country make sort of a plate, that i put my pickups in that will only be as wide as a normal humbucker ring, but it will be extended with routs for the singlecoils too. ofcourse he needs quite exact measurements so that the pickups will line up in their pockets, so i wonder if there is a chance to get hold of some sort of schematic for the top of rear routed strat bodies with this config ? im also having him do a chrome plate for the control plate in the back.

anyone have any ideas?

thanks in advance.

Personally, I would put a piece of MDF over the body and route out the pickups with a bottom-bearing trim bit, and then send him that. It would make a perfect copy of your routing to use as a reference, and you wouldn't have to do any measuring.

For the control cavity cover, just send your existing cover for him to copy.

You could just copy it off a HSS pickguard, or cut the pickguard down to size and use that as a template

The pup routs in the wood are a little larger than on a pickguard.

Just use the pickguard as a template as stated already.
For correct measurement of what you want to make.
Can see in pic's.

Is the same rout used in rear routing of pickup placement.

so all i would have to do would be give him the measurements between the pickup edges and he should be fine if he knows what hes doing ?

The person making it doesn't have a template already :icon_scratch:
Has he made this type of thing before ?  :dontknow:

I really think your best to get / buy
a pickguard setup for Trembucker or Humbucker & whatever type single coils you are using.

Then send him that as a template !!

I'd trust a template, than some measurements.

Pickup placement is not universal, and nor is pickup sizing.
