Anyone ever put a pickguard on one of these Velocity bodies? I'm thinking about the flat top version with a single bridge humbucker and then some sort of pickguard, similar to a LP Jr.

Well crap. That looks great. I'm thinking of either going for the Shoreline Gold with a cream pickguard or getting bare swamp ash and going for a dye and tru-oil finish (tortoise pickguard). I've already got a mahogany 24.75" conversion neck that's crying out to be installed in a body.

An unfinished mahogany or BK recessed TOM/contoured heel would have been a quicker sale, but tough to find my ideal config lying around in the showcase.

Well, I'm in for one. I got a swamp ash flat top which I'll give a natural oil finish and pair with my rosewood/mahogany Gibson-correct 24.75" conversion neck (SRV profile). She'll have a single humbucker and no switches, and maybe I'll figure out some sort of tortoise pickguard ala Les Paul Jrs.

I've already got an older SD JB bridge humbucker raring to go, this thing's gonna be a lean and mean rock machine!

I have been watching one of these bodies for months. I had told myself that if it got any cheaper I would buy it...I reallllllly don't need another one, but man I want it. These things look so awesome. I have told myself if it is still there tomorrow when I get home from work I'm pulling the trigger...and here I am trying to thin my herd out :help:

This isn't like the royale sale is it Double A? These things aren't going to be disappearing soon are they?
