I am planning to build my first warmoth as a maple sg with a maple tele neck. Im afraid that with some of the hardware im using (brass nut, brass/aluminum bridge saddles) it'll be too bright to the point that its harsh sounding. any suggestions?
thanks in advance  :icon_thumright:

I like brass... just put some nice 57 classics /classic + in that axe.  You'll like it.

mmm. use heavy strings. that thing'll scream
are you going for a typical SG sound or something different? I would agree that you'll be able to make it work w/ the right electronics regardless. It's better to have lots of highs and tame them back than to try and add highs when they're not there

Same goes for lows too though.

i wouldn't really agree. But then, i like very little low end in my guitar tone at all. i've never really an electric that i wasn't getting enough low end out of. I'm always trying to get it sounding cleaner and tighter.

not and sg sound, i just like the body style, i was actually going for a tele-ish sound with i bit more highs.

The brass nut, while adding brightness, won't do much of anything if most of your notes are fretted.  If you're doing a lot of open chord tuning, then yes.
