little outburst

I am really disappointed, with myself.
Timing is not my strength: in the last 6 months I had interested about 3/4 bodies in showcase.
When I decided to buy ... Puft, someone told me in advance, sometimes a few seconds .... :p
Why not build a new body and neck? Why, it is *paradoxical* but I would not have the patience to waiting for.
In any case, with the dollar to 1.27 euros, the increased taxes for the global crisis(IVA 21%, dazi 5%), now for me it is impossible to buy from Warmoth. Too expensive
I continue to follow the forum but bye bye purchases.
My next guitar will be a promod Charvel  and not a Warmoth super-strat (based on a pro mod)
Sorry for the outburst, Happy New Year to all

Sorry to hear that. But, if you had your heart set on a Warmoth, one thing you might consider is that things are quite likely to get much worse before they get better. There are a number of frightening things in process with the global economy right now.

You're right and I know (I've a degree in economics :glasses10:). But the current contingencies, show us scenarios-situations far from easy in the near future.

[My opinion? The euro will come out with "broken bones" from this crisis and if there will not be the realization of a real European Central Bank (which also emits euros if necessary) the euro is destined to disappear...]

Trying not to be political and get shut down but I know how you are feeling in reverse. As I see it the strenth of the Euro in the last few years helped Us over here start our recovery, and it having fallen from 1.48 to 1.27/1 will hurt the Us more than help it. So the tiger will continue to chase it's tail.

I spent 8 months in 2011 unemployed, and I had just ordered the body for my new build when it started. 2 things happened because of that, I did a nice unhurried finish that looks great and has had time to let it fully gas out and cure.
And I have had time to really shop super hard for the best price balanced by quality for hardware.

I know patience will win out, do not give up on the dream build. It will happen, just it may take a bit longer than expected. As someone who has finished a guitar I thought up and spent the time learning how to do each step and practicing skills like doing a finish till I was good enough to do mine, I will tell you, keep on dreaming, the reward is something you take great pride in.

:blob7: :blob7: :blob7:

I agree with everything you've written.
I hope that things will improve in the future.
For the moment I can turn to the forum/showcase fantasizing about a possible super next strat :D

If you allow me, there is only a small footnote: guys here would pay to stay unemployed (only) 8 months.... :sad1: Because if  it's hard find the first job it's almost impossible to find another when you are fired

Do yourself a favor, do NOT just "settle" on something if what you really want is a Warmoth guitar.  NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING is going to satisfy that itch.  As an example, I have a Warmoth "Star," which I love to death, but I also want a neck-through Jackson Custom Shop "Star" or "Warrior."  If I were to go out and order a Carvin V220 I'd probably love it, and while it's probably a very awesome guitar, it's just not going to "quench my thirst" for that Jackson Custom Shop model.

You have a goal.  Now, aim for it.  In the end you will appreciate your hard-earned Warmoth guitar more than you will ever appreciate a guitar you simply settled for.

For what it's worth, the Italian government's bond auction yesterday netted a 1-percent lower interest rate than the last one - which in turn led to a moderate rebound for the Euro.  Who knows whether there's something worse around the corner, but many see this as a good sign of an Italian and European recovery brewing.

I hope some of the benefit trickles down to you, Bruno.

Peace,

Bagman

The problem is no longer Italy (now with president M. Monti all good things - as it had to go even before... - ), but the euro and Europe.
A coin without a true central bank has no future. Indeed, it went beyond all expectations so far.
