Left Handed Bridges

Hi guys,

I am upgrading a (Made in Mexico) Stratocaster that I have played for 20 years and on three continents.
I ordered a "genuine Fender" bridge, but the plate and the block were a full 1/8 of an inch off (misaligned), and the block was supposed to be Aluminium painted and bond-o-ed over (there were small globs and streaks), and it was made out of what looked like pot metal.

It is drilled and routed for that 6-hole bridge, but I want something not fake or made out of what the crew found on the pile that morning. It is a left-handed MiM Stratocaster, and I need some ideas and places to buy a good bridge.

Well it doesn’t matter how many continents you have played on, but what does matter is WHICH MIM strat?
They have had different screw spacing as as well as string spacing over the decades.

I’m curious, miss aligned how? I’m guessing you mean a 6pt bridge (you didn’t mention). Where the holes (outer) too far apart or too narrow.

Either way, Callaham has a solution for you.

Narrow spacing, 6 points (screws) 6-Saddle Vintage-Style Synchronized Tremolo. Standard Stratocaster® Left Handed (1997-2006). It was misaligned, as the holes were not completely over each other (like a figure eight or ven diagram); It was so bad that the tremolo bar did not screw in. the plate was 1/8 (or more) inch off-center. I could not attach the tremolo bar.

MODEL #: 0134620573
Nut Width: 1.6875" (42.86 mm)
Vintage-style 2 1/16" mounting spacing

IT IS LEFT-HANDED, AND THAT IS PART OF MY PROBLEM. I MUST HAVE A LEFT-HANDED MODEL

Perhaps search for left handed tremolos.

Vegatrem offer left handed trems. Pricey but very stable.

Still not clear:
Is your mounting spacing 2 1/16 or 2 7/32?

Is the string spacing 2 1/16 or 2 7/32?

Narrow spacing for a Mexican bridge should be 2 1/16" mounting and string spacing. OP can you confirm?

They need to confirm. There were MIM models that were 2 7/32 mounting spacing (ie Classic 50s, etc). I know as I have one.

2 1/16 - I originally put 2 3/16 at the bottom of my first reply, but that was a type-o, to be clear. It is 2 1/16 It is a standard strat from late 1998-1999.

They are amazing. I have looked around searching for "left handed guitar tremolo bridge," and Amazon spit out some pot--metal wonders and Fender parts, and there are a lot of companies, but one that makes lefthanded 2 1/16 6-hole-mounted tremolo bridges is a smaller market.

See this bridge? It is Pot-metal, and it will sound like tin cans and bottle caps. You see, I want machined brass, steel, or solid Aluminum, and not something off the pile and poured into a mold.

Curious, as in trying to help? Nothing was wrong with how wide it was (2 1/16 spacing) so we are clear.
This is what I mean by misalighned:

I found this:

Google or a similar search engine may be better than Amazon to find things. Though there is probably little choice out there for Mexican spacing in left handed.

It is not clear what you mean by misaligned.

Gotoh offers tremolos in lefthanded as well and are used by many top brand guitar manufacturers.  https://g-gotoh.com/product/510t-sf2/?lang=en

That one has wider mounting and string spacing than a Mexican bridge.

If one uses google, I came up with a number of LH 6pt bridges with 2 1/16 mounting and 2 1/16 string

Some are stupid expensive like a Hipshot offering.  Check for better prices at HiTech

OK, look at this picture. You will see through the hole (where you would attach the tremolo bar) that the plate and the block are off by 1/8 of an inch or more.

Cool story! I used Google many times before posting here, using many different terms, and I found cheap things made of pot-metal or things priced over $200.

Thank you, I will check our HiTech.

If you "came up with a number of LH 6pt bridges with 2 1/16 mounting and 2 1/16 string," share them. I am not clear on how you found them using the same Google that I use.
