Warmoth said 5-6 weeks, and in 32 days I'm burning vacation time to play with my wood.

I took a bunch more pictures, but a combo of the lighting and that I didn't have the camera available and had to use my cell phone made them all look like ass. So here's the general overview.

Indian rosewood neck and fretboard w/ SS frets and a two-piece maple body. Sent the body straight back to Sims Custom Shop this morning to get painted.

The hardware:

nice! yeah, there website says 5-7 weeks for routing and finnish for showcase body's but I just got a notice from UPS today 3 weeks after ordering my Deluxe 5 Jazz bass body.

The fit of the neck is amazing, I feel like I could string it up without putting the bolts in first. Excellent job, Warmoth!

I keep touching the rosewood. Its like satin.

Interests:

1) Balance
2) Tone
3) Aesthetics - but so far......"lookin' good in the neighborhood!"  :glasses10:

Balance is good as the body is much heavier than I was expecting. Tone won't be determined until I get the body back and get it wired up.

So all I have is two nice pieces of wood and a smile at the moment.

YAY!
Looks good so far.
Remind me, what finish is Sim's doing?

-edit- oh, Lava P means Lava Burst! oh ok.  :laughing11:

Yeah, what finish are you getting done?  Throw a review of you're experience with them up on here when they're done.  I'm thinking about sending something off to them.

I have emailed the guy at 2AM before and he responded in under an hour. How's that for 24/7 customer service?

I'm paying $260 + return shipping for a Lava Pearl paint job ala the attached Bongo. He quoted me 8-10 weeks which is kind of a bummer but as he's prone to throwing awesome paint jobs on here from color-changing Strats to Confederate Ibanezs, I really don't mind waiting.

On a related note, does anyone know where I might be able to get a P bass pickguard made out of the stuff on that Bongo?

This one might look good.. I'm bolting just a .09 gloss black to it at first, but I guess I'll keep my eyes open. Maybe Warmoth's black pearl would look good?

Cant seem to get a good shot of Warmoth's at the moment, but here's Terrapin's version.
