Kijo (KEE-joh) - a female demon in Japanese legend/mythology, analogous to the oni.

Showcase K-V mahogany body, contoured heel, routed for dual humbuckers and V-T-toggle.  And appropriately enough, I'm listening to Megadeth's album, Symphony of Destruction, right now.

Build thread coming soon.

I'm going to take the plunge and go with a tiltback paddle to cut my own headstock.  The ready-made 3x3s are too rounded and Arcade is just too Jackson-like.  Since it's going to take several weeks to save up the money to order it, I've been using the time to design it.  Got a sheet of thin plywood to cut prototypes so I can minimize the chance of making a $400 mistake! :)

The neck arrived today. Just over 4 weeks from order to door.  All the rest of the hardware I ordered at the same time came with it.

And the test-fitting:

Now comes the hard part of practicing the shaping of the headstock. And try to avoid making a $360 mistake!

I hope your headstock shaping goes well! I'll be watching it closely, I'm considering trying my hand at it for my new build.

I'm happy to report that I did not make a $400-ish mistake! :)

Got some more fine-tuning sanding and shaping to do but for a rough cut, it turned out:

The more I look at those inlays the more I'm convinced they are going into my next build.  Keep the pics coming.

Nice job on the cut. A little smoothing and shaping and your good. Then you get the fun job of drilling and reaming the tuner holes.... :icon_thumright:
