just ordered my neck

Just ordered the neck for my G5.  There was nothing in the showcase I really liked so I custom ordered a Wenge/Ebony with MOP dots.  I couldn't really decide between Wenge and Pao Ferro, so I just made a quick decision and went with the Wenge.  Hope I like the coarser grain.  I've never custom ordered just a neck before, about how long does it normally take to get?  My body has been sitting in the box for months and I'm ready to get her together.

You're actually lucky =) You can have everything ready on the body so when the neck comes in the mail you simply add tuners, and put it on=)

How long it takes is dependant on how many orders there are at the moment... An unfinished neck should take anywhere from 4-6 weeks (warmoth estimate). However it could be 2 weeks, and it could be 8... who knows! It's the only negative thing about warmoth; the waiting after the order...... :sad1: But then again, that applies to anything custom! And its all well worth the wait!

I've got everything on the body put together.  I just need to get around to wiring everything up.  I just hate the waiting: ).

My last custom fretless Gecko neck took about 5 weeks, which was not as long as I was expecting.  It was worth the wait.

It also had Wenge wood on the neck shaft, and it feels very nice.  The coarser grain doesn't bother me at all, and Warmoth does such a good job on sanding that it's incredibly smooth.  I hope your G5 neck turns out as nicely.
