Just got this - in what color should I finish it?

Either a 2-tone Sunburst or a Mary Kaye White. That grain is really beautiful and it would look great under either finish but if it were mine I'd be doing it as a Mary Kaye.

I look forward to seeing how it turns out.

For me it depends on what your neck/fretboard woods are, and what color is your hardware. Tell me those choices and then I can tell you what I'd do with the body finish.

I'm thinking Canary thru and thru.  No black or gold hardware for me!

That woodgrain is pretty interesting, so I agree a transparent finish is the way to go. Canary looks good with most of the transp. Warmoth colors, except yellows or oranges - red or green or blue and turquoise would all work. Me? I'd probably go with turquoise or blue: the canary fretboard would stand out and it would be a nice contrast with chrome hardware.

I haven't seen a Mary Kaye I've liked.  When you say two tone, what do you have in mind?

CrackedPepper - I'm sure it's gonna look great in whatever finish you picked!  Hopefully that grain won't get covered over completely, that one needs to be seen.

post a photo of the back.  I would not do a burst...it would cover too much of the sides of the top.  Any trans finish would do....I second the aqua comment

this could be sweet however....
