Man,

I just order my first build kit.  I now have to wait 8 to 12 weeks......    Can't wait to get started!

Sorry......

It's going to be a a Maple bodied, upgraded Maple Quilt Top with Clear Gloss finish with Cream top and bottom bindings.  The body shape is a Tele with no releif cuts and rear routed Strat pickup and controls to show off the quilt top.

The Pickup will be EMG's with a Wilkinson Tremolo.  Al chrome hardware.

The Neck is a Vintage Modern Flamed Maple with Rosewood fretboard in gloss.

I support this build, even with the absence of boxes and things just being out of them.  :icon_jokercolor: :icon_thumright:

I'd reckon full-on Maple would be really heavy - will the body be chambered beyond the control cavity?

Thanks for the support....

No there will be no weight reductions.  I wanted heavy.  I was leaning towards mahagony but decided on keeing with the same color wood.  I currently have a gold top les paul that I hope this beats out as my new favorite so heavy is not a problem.  (I also have a Anniversary Strat and an old school solid boday Gretsch, hope this is a good hybred of all)

i have a full maple tele and it is the lightest guitar I own.  VERY light.

And so it'll be light on the wallet when you sell it to me?  :icon_thumright:

It's probably eastern or "soft" Maple. It's substantially lighter than the western "hard rock" variety. "Soft" is a relative term here; it's not like Pine/Poplar/Basswood or anything like that. It's still pretty hard, just not like the western stuff which can be a real tool-wrecker.

Gee Whiz & I was hanging for another 'Just out of the Box' to show up ....
:icon_scratch: Now gotta wait 8 to 12 weeks ..... Oh the suspense is just killing me.

But I must say, by the description, this sounds like a nice build happening here  :toothy10: am sure you'll be very happy on it's arrival.

Also ....

Thanks.  I hope it turns out as nice as it sounds.  I spent ALL evening watching the videos on YOUTUBE on how to build it.  See link http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=16733.0
(AND I MEAN ALL!!!!)  This one series had over 30 episodes!  Honestly I was a little nervous when it took over 25 just to get the neck right.  Please tell me that it won't be as tedious as these videos.  I'm hopeing that the neck is in pretty decent shape and I won't have to do much (if any) fret dressing.  I'm not a prefessional player and Ihave never had the frets dressed on any of my other guitars.

I'll send pictures as soon as parts start arriving, but like I said when I started this string...... 8 TO 12 WEEKS and I just started countint! :blob7:

ps.  I tried up upload some pics on my "family" (of guitars) but was unable.  The pics reside on my computer and it won't let me cut and paste them in the string.  Is there an easy way?

That guy takes necks to the Nth degree, which is much farther than they need to be for most people. A Warmoth neck can often be installed and played right out of the box without any issue other than perhaps some truss rod adjustment, and I've done it. Their raw necks are usually better than many manufacturer's dressed necks. Of course, once you've lived with a properly finished neck, it's hard to tolerate anything less. But, I wouldn't worry about it just yet if I were you. He was going the extra mile to make that into a thorough instructional series.

Thanks! Feeling better now!  Bought nearly everythig from Warmoth (just not pickups) so I'm hoping it will all go together with little fuss.

Got home tonight to find the home for my build at the door.  A brand new tweed hardshell case .  The EMG pickups showed up as well.  Now just have to wait for the kit from warmth.
