Jazzmaster Neck Flame Roasted Maple w/ Black Block Inlay

Hey!  I'm debating on getting either the roasted flame maple with black block inlay or just regular flame maple with vintage nitro satin neck.

Has anyone tried the roasted flame maple with black block inlay?  does it show up well?  would it be better to get it not roasted, as the black block inlay will "pop" more?

Roasted Maple is darker than raw, so black markers may tend to blur in a little on darker stages. For my money, roasted curly Maple is so pretty I wouldn't put markers on it at all other than maybe some white or pearl side markers. I was kinda anxious about the first neck I got with no fretboard face markers, but the side markers were enough for me. Took no time at all to get used to it. But, that's just me. YMMV.
