I think it's $100 cheaper this time! Might be worth changing your name to Butch, just to get the corresponding green and yellow rising-sun guitar. Just typing that cracks me up! I hope he comes back and chews us out again, that was hilarious.

:laughing7:

the guy just doesn't realize that overly personalized things are worth less than the sum of the parts. well most customs are but something with your name on it just isn't gonna sell. and i think i can build that for about $1000 minus the bad paint job.

Parting it out, he may be able to get $800 or something. But the body and pickups simply aren't meant to be resold like that. He should strip the body, take off the neck, change the neck pickup cover, etc...

"The neck has the most highly Birdseye that I have EVER seen on a neck is a super fast player!"
love that line

I mean the neck is pretty nice....but not $1800 nice, and the body...  :-\  there are SO many more options for your dollar at that price range  :laughing7:

i bet he could get a good chunk of change for the neck, but alder bodies are cheap especially ones painted green and yellow. $800 seems optomistic for a total of the parts. yellow/green custom seymour duncans probably aren't big sellers and a new schaller floyd in gold is like $300 or less and a gotoh is like half that. that leaves alot for the neck to take in. being that it is used from 1991 and no finish i wonder what the picture dont show. is it strait? how is the fret work? is it discolored from his sweat?

Someone tell the story of this guy yelling at you guys for those who don't know

Supposedly one of his buddies sent him the link to a thread where we were making fun of his guitar and how much he wanted for it.  He registered and proceeded to tell us we were losers for making fun of him.  He claimed he doesn't really want to sell it, he just posts it at a high price and if somebody will give him that then he can part ways with it.  I didn't think that made too much sense since he has to have spent close to $100 on ebay ads by now.  The thread went to like 14 pages before it got locked.

And for $1,800 I could build that guitar and have $1,000 left over.
You could probably do it and have $1500 left over.. :icon_biggrin:

Wonder if he'll log back on again, now that we're talkin' smack again... :laughing11:

I am channeling Butch,  he says you guys are mean bully's who should, "mind your own bee's wax"!

Well - in the the sea of overpriced ugly guitars this one is at least truly "uniquely one of a kind!". And in 7 years time or so you could even call it vintage.  :rock-on:

Nooooooooooooooooo!!!  I hate it whe people think you can just buy a can of paint and spray a guitar and that is a finish.
