Inverting P-rails

You can definitely do it, but I don't think it would make the neck pickup brighter. The P90 portion of the pickup will be in pretty much the same location, but the rail pickup will be closer to the fretboard, meaning it will sound less bright. It should make for warmer rail and humbucker tones, while having very little impact on the P90 sound. Running both rails in parallel would probably end up sounding less strat-ish and more tele-ish since they spacing between the neck and bridge rails will no longer be similar to the spacing between 2 strat pickups. Of course, this is all just theory, so be sure to post the actual results if you try it!
