Well new to me.
My day job and my gigs have me way too busy to even consider finishing builds, not less starting new ones.
Inbound is a 2014 Gibson Firebird. A 120th anny grabbed at a good price with the Gibby OSHC.
Now if you know pickups, you know the original FB pup is NOT a mini HB. The construction of these are radically different. (The mini uses something most akin to a HB w/ a solid bar mag underneath the poles horizontal with coils on top.
The FB uses 2 mags (vertically) with a coil wound each. Picture 2 Melody Maker pups crammed together under 1 cover. Oh and we wouldn’t even get into the wood spacer and steel reflector plate.
Birds haven’t come with correct pups for years. I have rectified that as I have a set of Mojotone Johnny Winters inbound as well. They will probably make it here sooner than the Bird. Kewl thing was, got a 15% call in discount on the pups: so the price of the pups + the Bird accepted offer totals less that the posting price on the Bird alone.
