Well just got a deal on an item I have wanted for decades. You don't see them too often, and when you do, weight has/can be an issue. Played one back in Dec and it was almost 9.75 lbs. Others were heavier.

I have inbound a CS Gibson 54 RI Les Paul Custom in ebony. Yep the one with the staple pup in the neck and a p90 in the bridge.

Weight is 8 lbs 5 oz. That's 1 oz over 8.25 lbs!!!
and I got it for $1000+ less than normal new going price.

Should be arriving Friday.

That's stunning, and I can very much appreciate the appeal of an unusually light-weight model. Can we guess where you ordered it from?

Building one wasn’t an option. I’m not the best router and the depth needed for that neck pup is MUCH deeper than normal.

If you tried to put one in a SG, good chance you might route a cavity all the way through the back.

My SG Special will go on the sell list I think (as well as some other things).

That's drop dead gorgeous, and if it looks that good in the picture, IRL it's gonna make your knees buckle.

They sound even better than they look. That Staple neck is almost more D Armond like than P90. What look like pole pieces are actually each a bar magnet set on end. That’s why it requires a deep route.

I doubt I’ll put a bigsby on it, but maybe a Les Trem II. Less expensive, lighter weight, and less obtrusive. IE totally reversible.
