Just pulled the trigger on one of these used on TGP.  I'm pretty stoked, i've always been blown away by the Vox sound, and i got a pretty amazing deal on this boutique amp.

Here's what it looks like:  :o

And here is what it sounds like (technically, this is their cl-15 model, but you get the idea):  :o :o :o

The simpler the circuit, the purer the tone.

I also see what I assume to be a pair of Celest. Blues - chime city!

Don't get lost in that sea of knobs. :evil4:

Haha, there aren't too many knobs on this thing, but like Superlizard said, that results in a purer circuit with a shorter path for the signal to go from input to output.  Plus, you'd be surprised how many tonal options there are despite the lack of knobs.  Vox-flavored amps have always had really interactive controls imho, for example there's a bright switch AND a treble cut knob, and they interact in really unique ways.  Plus, the boost switch on this amp sounds fantastic (and is footswitchable).  However, the two features i'm particularly stoked about are on the back: there's a half power switch on the back so you can run it at 15w and get that nice Vox saturation at more respectable volumes, and there's a switch to select between two options for preamp tubes: EF86 (which is the more classic Vox sound) or 12AX7.

And yes Superlizard, two Blues.  That was a prerequisite for me when i was amp shopping.  :icon_thumright:

Got the amp this morning!  Had about an hour or so to play through it before I had to go to work, but my first impressions were extremely positive.  Beautiful chiming clean sounds, and the break-up has tons o' bawlz.  Good thing it has the 15-watt switch, because that sucker is LOUD.  Still have more exploring to do with it, and i haven't really tried any pedals in front of it yet, but so far it seems to be exactly what i was looking for.
