So as the title says, in about 3 hours (the 19th) I am turning 21!

So obviously, I'm have to buy myself something to drink. What are your favorites? Beer, mixed drink, liquors, whatever. I don't have any idea about anything, I haven't really had anything to drink before.

There is a favorite drinks thread somewhere.

AprioriMark says I need to try a Singapore Sling, so maybe try one of those and report back. :blob7:

I like Margaritas. Also, Mudslides and White Russians.  :icon_biggrin:

1st up Happy 21st Birthday

Gee by that age I had drunk about 6 pallet loads of alcohol.  :icon_biggrin:
Is 21 yo the legal age to drink in USA ?

If this is your 1st time drinking, DON'T take the advice that others have posted already.
Or I assure you, you are gunna have one hell of a 1st hangover  :laughing7: :laughing3: :laughing11:

OH Yeah Margaritas  .... I'm in  :toothy10:

Long Island iced tea or Bloody Ceasars are my mixed drink of choice ...
But there's nothing like having a nice, cold beer while watching the hockey game, or a nice glass of wine to go with dinner (red or white depending on what's being served, of course!)

If you've never drunk anything, I'd suggest wine as a good place to start.
1. Start drinking at eleven
2. Grab your favorite guitar
3. Write music
4. When you lose coherency (a couple bottles in) go to bed
It's a simple pleasure of life.

God bless living overseas where there is no legal drinking age.  :occasion14:

Especially Max's suggestion. Dasani on the rocks will really fudge you up! :blob7:

Don't make it any more complicated than it need to be. Buy some SKYY vodka and your favorite juice. Doesn't matter. ANY juice works. Pour a couple jiggers of vodka into a glass and fill it the rest of the way with juice and you'll be feelin good in no time.

Good advice. Also, white wine is usually easier on the tase buds than red. Or just beer. High-% liquor may just not be a smart choice for a first timer. But this comes from someone who prefers to see and enjoy the world in a sober state. Not that I don't drink, just very occasionally.

Anyway, happy birthday!
