An all black Firebird; cream binding, hardware set up like an LP "Black Beauty", mahogany/mahogany with jet black ebony cream bound fretboard, think it might just rock.....

I was thinking matte black hardware; I'm not a fan of gold.

Besides, with black h/w, when someone asks "How much more black could it be?" you can say "None. None more black..."

With gloss black, you gotta do the raised center portion, too!

Seriously, it does sound great. I love Firebirds, I just hate playing them standing up. I'm too used to strap point on Strats. Even Telecasters (and I own one) are a bit funny-feeling.

Wouldn't it be great if W had non-reverse 'birds?

Boo to matte black hardware... it's gotta have black PAFs with cream rings.

it's funny how these things start, i was going to do an all black tele, single pickup in the bridge also black probably a plastic cover that hides the pole pieces all together. with a solid jet black ebony neck, if it came with some streaking i'd have died that black too. and all black hardware, i wound up with koa on korena and gold hardware, go figure.

How about doing it with a reverse Strat body and neck?  Black, cream binding, block inlays, gold hardware, three mini humbuckers, and maybe a recessed Tune-o-matic bridge?
