How & Where to Position a Non-tremolo Bridge?

I'm having one of my guitars converted from a tremolo bridge to a non-tremolo, thru-the-back" hardtail bridge.
Yes, this involves plugging the tremolo route holes in order to get a flat/solid bridge mounting surface.

What's the best way to determine where to position the bridge (to get the correct string lengths & strings to line-up with the nut)?

Thanks for any suggestions on this operation.

I'll check tonight. I have a book at home that tells you where to position it.  Is it a 25.5" Neck?? If you can't wait, find another Fender guitar and measure from the side of the nut closest to the First fret to the bottom E string Saddle.  The positioning is the same assuming you have a 25.5" neck which is standard on Fender strats.  Tom Hirst wrote a excellent book on construction.  Check this out.
