Here's the guitar before the surgery. I had a EMG81 and EMG85 at home so buying another pickups would be a bad idea economically

Time to refret! This is my first serious try at doing that, I have only done it once before: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOxs9xzN5yk

My improvised file for shaping the fret ends!

The frets turned out nice enough, I guess! We'll see when strings get on if it works, but I don't need the lowest string height in the world to play either.

Time to make pickguard!

Aaaarrrrrgggghhh!!!!

This looked better than I expected! The hole for the tone pot will be used to fit a black LP switch instead.

Now I just gotta wait for one of our swedish parts suppliers to get a new delivery on Gotoh Floyds, and then I'll order bridge, nut, tuners and all that stuff.

Any comments?

Looks pretty good so far Cederick. I've been a fan of top-routed Soloists since way back. It's one of those things that I'd love to see the Big W do.

Yeah I know, the Warmoth soloist would look great with a pickguard (which some have done by themselves; http://www.warmoth.com/Gallery/GalleryItem.aspx?id=3654 this looks unbelievably awesome to be honest)

Screw the Gotoh Floyd!  That thing needs, nay, deserves the trusty Jackson JT-6!
Nah, easier to just buy a Gotoh floyd from the parts supplier than looking around for a used old bridge, really  :)

Your video on removing the frets has to be about the craziest amateur luthier video on You Tube yet.  :occasion14:

Enjoy the project...

I can assure you that it was not this guitar I did that action on  :toothy12:
