Did I miss anything?

There's enough headstock up there to beat the hell out of any ol' Sasquatch that might come along. But, other than that, I like it <grin>

Patrick- the pickgaurd took me forever to find. Ultimately the wonderful world of ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Pickguard-Les-Paul-CHROME-PLATED-BRASS-/390089113100?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item5ad31f7e0c#ht_1309wt_911

Max- What did I miss?

Thanks for all the kind words.

love it! gotta say, i hate that headstock. but otherwise that is one badass guitar! really liking the swan inlay

Wow, this is kinda freaky for me. I have been thinking about a similar theme in the last few days. Great work!  :icon_thumright:

A few questions if I might:
1) Used the B3 Bigsby instead of the B7? Was the B3 a little too deep, I always thought the B7 would have been more ideal given the thickness(thinness?) of the L5S body, it's not really as thick as an archtop which is what the B3 is meant for.

2) Who did the finish? Looks brilliant.

That body is killer, but if you painted the headstock in the same fashion as the body, it would look super sleek. Either way, VERY cool guitar. :hello2:

I agree, the onl;y improvement I'd look at on what has been done, would be to colour match the headstock. But yeah, great project, cool guitar!

Really cool! You should join in on our monthly jams so we can hear it :icon_thumright:

Btw, what bridge is that?

I was actually really torn on color matching the headstock. Ultimately my love of natural wood and the pragmatism of finishing it in one swipe won out. The bridge is a roller bridge from stew mac, so far I like it alot though the intonation adjustment is a bit laborious.

The bigsby b3 tail was  a perfect fit, though I had to modify the neck pocket to accommodate its hight off of the body. The B3 was my toughest decision on the guitar. The B7 won't fit with a standard bridge placement because the extra tension bar makes it a few inches too long. Infact the B3 is a pretty tight fit, but the fact that Bigsby used to put it on their own flat tops back in the day tipped the jury.

The paint job was done by Kyle Harder of the Hot Rod Institute. http://www.hotrodinstitute.com/  Who better to paint a hot rod themed guitar than a bunch of hot rod builders? They really got into it and offered 110%. And I do take a bit of pride in the fact that this guitar will soon be in their photo hall of fame alongside a ton of really great rods.
