Holoflake black Strat Body plus 3A Birdseye Neck

Had the urge to build a black Strat with a 1-piece Maple Neck.

Decided to go full custom, so went with a lightweight Mahogany body, hardtail Hipshot bridge and a set of Bareknuckle Pickups I had lying around.
Instead of the standard black, I opted for the Holoflake finish.

The neck is a 1-piece 3A Birdseye Vintage Modern construction, with 6115 SS frets, straight 12.5" radius, '59 profile (my favorite!) and a nice vintage tint Satin finish. The inlays are Moonglow. I would have gone for white MOP, but since I'm outside the US, there were export restrictions on this.

Pretty happy with the mockup! The quality of the body and neck are superb! Can't wait to bring this project to my luthier to get this together!

The Holoflake looks like the night sky (pics don't really show how nice the sparkle is... in person it's much sparklier...)  :icon_jokercolor:

Whoa - yea that's pretty cool.  Must look amazing under the stage lights...

I know, I'm in two bands and had many gigs in 2018 and 2019. My last gig was February 2020, since then nothing.
But I'm pretty confident that all this madness will stop in late 2021 and we all will be able to gig out again.  :glasses10:

A quick note about the Hipshot bridge. I love these hardtail bridges.

You definitely want the one with the big .175" base plate. Not the thinner .125", as you will have to max out the saddle height on the latter and it's still not enough. The .175" is just fine - perfect in fact! So keep that in mind, for anyone wanting to go with the Hipshot hrdtail. It's an excellent hardtail - with great tonal properties and superb build quality.

Now regarding the routing for this, I chose the narrow Strat flat mount. The 3 mounting holes align perfectly, the 6 string holes align ok, they are a little off, but you can pass the strings through with no problem. Just keep in mind that it won't be 100% perfect, but good enough that it will play just fine with that route.

I wish Warmoth would offer a Hipshot hardtail route for the future though.

Totally galactic!

I was tempted to say "intergalactic," but astronomically speaking, there are few stars in the space between galaxies so it wouldn't be an appropriate term :)

If you're within a galaxy, the stars are sometimes so close that you can't see many of them - like the situation on our planet during the daytime.  Ya know, that whole "not being able to see the galaxy for the stars" scenario again.  However, if you're in intergalactic space, it seems like one would have a much better view - ya know, like how "they" don't let you get too close to tigers at the zoo, Niagara Falls, and Mona Lisa.

That's true. As you approach a galaxy, your field of view would encompass more and more stars until you get close enough to where you're just met with the exceedingly mind-numbing distance of the gap between stars.

Wait a minute.

Weren't we supposed to be talking about Schneidas' guitar?  :)

That has an impossible amount of 90's class. Love it. It reminds me of my POG slammers, and that's very cool
