Help with trem choices

Hello all,

Planning first build (Strat).  I'm researching tremolo types / brands and would like advice on a design that would be best for mild / moderate use. Looking for the best quality system for keeping in tune... Probably a roller nut with this combo.

Options;

Fender standard 2 point.

Wilkinson

Also, would a fender work in a Wilkinson rout (standard or recessed)?  Just curious if that might be a better option to be able to go back to?

Would a Floyd Rose be worth looking at?

Thanks in advance

Actually, there's very little difference between the Fender two-point and the Wilkie. Same design, really. Fender's just came out later. I'm not sure if they're fit the same route - never tried it. Wilkies are almost all I use other than these Schallers, unless someone forces me to do it differently.

I would never recommend a Floyd, but they work well if you're willing to tolerate the weight, maintenance headaches, bulk, neck ruination, etc.

I have installed Floyds without the locking nut, so you don't have to wreck the neck. Just put locking tuners and a good nut on the thing, and you're set. Still costs gobs and is too complex, but it looks rad.

A headstock design with straight string pull to the tuner post and a good roller nut or tusq can accomplish what the Floyd locking nut can with easier maintenance any day of the week.

The key to success, a stellar professional setup.
