Help with arithmetic for Trem rout

I need a bit of help with my maths here as I'm not sure on the Warmoth specs.  From what I've found, the Warmoth bodies are 1-3/4" thick?  Is this correct?  1-3/4" = 44.45mm.

I want to rout a cavity for a Jazzmaster Trem and that requires 37mm.

Will a 37mm JM trem rout leave enough thickness in the back of the guitar to be structurally sound?  I have no experience with Trem bridges previously so don't know how these things usually fly. Bear in mind the JM rout is quite broad and long.

Cheers.

That's only leaving  .294" of an inch thickness, which is just a little over 1/4" of material left.......I guess it really depends on how big of an area is actually being removed.... :dontknow:
Got a pic of what it's suppose to look like....

Well it's just an ordinary Jazzmaster Trem rout.  I've just gone back and checked and the Jazzmaster body is 1-3/4" thick. Is this the Strat width too (I can't find anywhere that says this presently)?  If they can rout a JM that way, I wonder why they won't rout a Strat body that way...CNC issue?

You're seriously contemplating putting a Jazzmaster whammy on a Strat? :o 97.5% of the normal people in the world are putting Strat whammys on Jazzmasters, because the original Jazzmaster whammy is such an gruesomely maldesigned impediment to actually playing music... have you ever tried each of those whammys? GAAK!

I could see a Bigsby, maybe, for cosmetic purposes. Of course, I want to make a blonde Telecaster with vintage Fralin pickups, clay dots, and a BIG GOLD FLOYD ROSE some day.... :help:

I'm not trying to rain on your parade.  But im 400% with Stubby on this one.

My next build will be a jazzmaster, but im putting either a wilkinson or a hipshot trem in it.

Mind you, if its what you want, dont let anybody tell you otherwise.

LoL..I get that a lot.

The other option is a bigsby B5, but they're butt ugly.

I should just install the bridge off my Sakai...
