Help: Trying to mount Fender Custom Shop Texas Special Strat Pickups

Hello.

I just got my warmoth body and pickguard in. This is my first build and I'm working on setting up the pickguard. The box that the Fender CS pickups came in had 6 screws and 6 rubber washers. The screw goes through the pickup cover fine but it will not screw into the pickups. I've been googling around for a while trying to find out if someone else has seen this but haven't found anything.

Am I missing something? Seems like the screws that came with the pickups should screw into the pickups no?

Clean the wax out of the hole. Try inserting the screw from the bottom first. You will be cutting threads into the fiber so there will be a little bit of resistance.

That did it. I had to apply a decent amount of force, guess I just didn't want to break the side of the pickup.
