Hello Houston

Don't know many people down there have power to get on the net, if the connection itself isn't down.

You're probably right, may be alot of power outages down there..

My 86 year-old Grandmother is in League City (Galveston County), and wouldn't leave.  My parents are an hour north of Houston, and they're fine.  I'm Northwest of Dallas, only got a little rain, but has looked like crap all day.  Watching the weather channel, it looks right on top of us.

DangerousR6 is about an hour east of me.  I'm sure he's got it a little worse, but not bad.

How you guys making out down there?
I heard you guys got hit hard?
The Houston Galveston areea got the worst of it looks like. It was fine here in Greenville, just a bit of rain...

I gigged tonight in Arlington.  The weather wasn't bad enough for the gig to get cancelled.  There were signs up saying that you could not drive to Houston or Beaumont.  My Grandmother in League City is alright.  Their fence blew down, and a limb fell on their car.  My parents are in East TX, an hour north of Houston and are without power, but they're prepared since "Rita."  They've got a generator and a window unit on their closed in front porch.  There's not much property damage or flooding there, but there's trees everywhere, so power lines are down.  They were without power for a week after "Rita" hit 3 years ago.

How/where is RLW?  He's near Galveston, and they got F'ed up.

He finally got off the island before the storm hit and went north; probably doesn't have power
