Have you ever ran across THIS type of Warmoth Critisim?

Having a preference is fine, to each their own. The degree and depth of extreme opinion is one reason I don't hang out with other guitar guys as a general rule because I don't have time for the unsavory aspects of the sub culture. This forum is one of the few great corners of civilization as the guitar knows it.

Do your thing that works for you and maybe ask your friend to live and let live so you don't have to listen to it by the year. I was obsessed with brands in my twenties the first go around at playing the guitar, this time around I have never looked back after heading down the partscaster road and anyone who even tries to put a decal on any of my headstocks is gonna get stopped. I've cut the labels out of my garments, so to speak. Going the parts route allows you to have the components you really want, to have a much more personal instrument, and to converse with some great like minded types in a place like this forum.

Why would you want to see a bog standard F*nder, when you can walk in to any guitar shop and see one? I mean compared to something someone has gone to all the work of designing building/constructing?

Sure it maybe badly built or have a rather tasteless duck or Turtle  :turtle: inlay, or whatever, but at least it reflects on the owner  :turtle:

Your friend is an idiot. Exactly how is a production line, American Standard Strat better than (or as good as) a custom guitar with premium components???

As the owner and lover of over 8 Warmoths, one of my idiot buddies  can't won't and will not appreciate them.

When I tell Him I have a Warmoth Strat, his reaction is why? Nothing OI have said registers with him. All he can say is, I could have bought a Fender American Standard  for less than that.

If i try and tell him the Fender he has plays badly and frets out, and that the hardware and pickups  on it is mediocre , and  that I get top grade aftermarket  parts and pickups of my choice, and the radius/ neck profile that I prefer, frets that I want, and the body woods, along with  my chosen  body weight, all that goes in one ear and out the other.

I get miffed to no end , the guy, after trying to tell him, he just doesn't get it. His viewpoint remains ,to  get an American Standard, and sell my "junk". he truly believes I am wasting money getting Warmoth.

I hate that about him, and I guess other people are  are the same way- hopefully not many.

I told him I wanted him to see my new VIP. He has a lot of Gibsons ( mostly acoustic), and some Fenders . All he said was- "I don't wanna see no Warmoth".

Let him go bro, you don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
