Does anyone own or know whether the Xavier guitars Guitar Fetish sell are worth spending money on?

:dontknow:  Got no idea.
But I just tossed this one  … http://www.guitarfetish.com/XV-895HSS-String-Through-Setneck-QUILT-Top-HSS-Transparent-Charcoal_p_4500.html
in the shopping cart with a hard shell case.
Guitar + case = $278
Shipping either $167.30 or $216.20

Cagey has dealt with GuitarFetish.

BTW … Buying a though neck guitar from overseas (from Australia) usually costs a bucket load of shipping costs.
Also you know we can spend up to US$1,000 without shipping costs included, before you have to pay extra at customs.
Even better when our AUS$ is better than the US$  ..... which it is    :cool01:  ... and has been for ages now.  :icon_biggrin:

I do a lot of business with Guitar Fetish, but I've never bought one of their guitars. I've always been suspicious of them, but not for any good reason. It's just a gut feeling, and probably baseless. For high-quality low-price instruments, I'm a huge fan of Agile guitars, and I've seen a couple surprising pieces from SX as well, both available from Rondo Music.

True that, and when you say you threw it in your shopping cart, are you buying it, or did you just wanna see how much it was?
Also, thank you Cagey, Agile guitars look sweet, although when I searched SX I received "SX News is Sydney's favourite weekly gay and lesbian magazine."  :icon_tongue: Maybe should have searched SX Guitars :laughing7:

Yeah like I need another guitar  :laughing7:
No I was just checking the shipping costs, I do that all the time.

There is lot about Rondos guitars (obviously) on http://www.agileguitarforum.com/

But there is also a lot about Xavier guitars which many members there are owners of. So you may have a look-see around. Any particular model you are looking at?

Nothing in particular, but I've always wanted a semi hollow body, and if the Xavier guitars are alright then why not?  :icon_jokercolor: I will take a look at the forum you sent me

Mind you I wouldnt mind one of the white falcon look alikes with the black scratchplate in the pics at the top of the page: http://www.guitarfetish.com/XV-900-Semi-Hollowbody-Flame-Maple-Alnico-Fat-Pats_c_154.html  :toothy12:

This is the one I'm lusting after:

I'm a sucker for a white hollowbody, the price is right, and I do not have a P90 axe in my arsenal.  To bad I have to pay for silly things like food and college.

Oh yeah, see I plan on going to the Australian Defence Force Academy when I go to uni (bachelor of civil engineering) - they pay for my degree  :laughing7: Anyway, lovely guitar, you say you don't have a guitar with P90's?  :o I have P90's in my LP. Classic rock sound - great crunch.
:rock-on:

The fact that Agile is making affordable guitars with stainless steel frets impresses me. Thanks for sharing Cagey, I did not know much about Agile.

However, I hate ebony fingerboards, especially on an electric, so I didn't see anything that I would buy.  :confused4:

Save me starting another thread ....

I have never heard of this mob  :icon_scratch: .... Anyone here ?

This is the price in Oz ... http://www.dwmusic.com.au/store/browse/guitars/electric-guitars/?page=1&_route_=store%2Fbrowse%2Fguitars%2Felectric-guitars%2F&brand=121&category=51

Back to the Warmoth showcase for me .......

They're a new one on me. Pretty safe bet I'll never own one at those prices, though.

I've tried some of their 27 fret Horus-models and they are very fine instruments. I'm not thrilled with their pickups - but as always YMMV.

And yes - they are pricey bitches  :icon_biggrin: I would still use my money on Warmoths.
