grating - string/fret

on some of my frets on my new warmoth jazzmaster, there's a grating feeling when i bend on certain frets.

i've also experienced this on my strat with a warmoth conversion neck.

the strings are new ...

I've noticed this on all of my guitars. With play it goes away.

By any chance are these maple necks with maple boards and a finish?

Yeah it's probably finish on the frets.  It'll go away, or you can polish the frets with steel wool if you're impatient like me.  I'm sure there's a thread around here on polishing frets somewhere....

There you go.  If it was finished, the finish is also on the frets.  It will wear off over time or you can clean it off.  Do a search around the site for more instructions.
