The Canadian dollar rose to 73 cents US today! :hello2: :hello2: :hello2:

Still pitiful, but not quite as bad as before...

With the duties and taxes crossing the border, and now the CAD's pitiful exchange rate, a reasonably priced $300 body or neck turns into an almost $500 expense.
It really sucks that any build (when you include pickups, hardware, etc) costs at least 1.5 times more north of the 49th.  Canadian parts dealers charge more for the same product for the very same reasons, so there's no savings regardless of where the parts come from.

But it seems our new Prime Minister is getting a lot of attention ........

Yep..
In 2008 or 2009, when I bought my Les Paul Standard, it was $2500. Nowadays, it's about $3600 for the current models. It has been insane lately. A few years ago, you could get an LP Custom for not much more!
