When I was a kid, living out in the AZ, I used to get to watch the SF Giants practice. They used a field near where I lived in Casa Grande, my step dad was the sheriff, so he was usually on security watch... :icon_biggrin:
I just thought the Giants were the larger cousins of the Ants. You've seen them. They starred in that old '50s era documentary film "Them!", which details the unintended side effects of nuclear testing on industrious insect societies.
I wonder if aiming the gun would make a difference?
I rooting for the Giants because they're a National League team, and I think pitchers should have to be able to hit as well and because Willie Mays is one of my childhood heroes!
Having gone to school in San Francisco I always have a soft spot for the Giants. When my favorite Yankees got blown out I temporarily shifted my allegiance to the Giants. But at least there are two classic teams in this years World Series. I'm old school and can never wrap my mind around all the new teams that have sprung up in recent years. I can handle the Giants moving to San Francisco because it happened before I was born--though I do miss Candlestick Park even though it was always one of the most uncomfortable places to watch a baseball game.
