Go For It

Now that's certainly something.

I didn't get nearly that when I sold Mayfly #1 when cleaning out the basement  :icon_jokercolor:

BTW, the guy pictured in the auction is THE MAN (no, not Jim Marshall, although he is in the photo)...

Ken Bran.

It's because of Ken Bran that all Marshall-heads can be thankful.

This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime auction... sadly, waaaay out of my price range.  LOL

Ooo... those old Marshalls look great, don't they? Much better than the all-black spaghetti script style that came later.

Has me wondering why Ken Bran would be selling this?

According to the blurb on the auction he made it himself - while at Marshall - and was used to dial in 'the' Marshall tone with playing done by Ritchie Blackmore.

The provenance on this item would have to contain substantial documentation that this amp was indeed one of the amps used, or otherwise it could be just a 'Friday night special' knocked up by Ken once the shop was closed and taken home for the weekend (assuming he had access to do that for his research). For the commanding price you'd be demanding that sort of paper trail.

Mind you, having an amp built by Ken Bran in itself would be pretty special.....
