Gloss to satin

Hi,
I have an Ibby SZ 320 with a tobacco burst finish. It has about an inch of poly. Here is my question, I have scuffed the back of the neck to make it more satiny. Can I spray over it with some Deft satin poly?

You could, but then you'd have about 1.5" of poly.  :laughing7:

It'd be better to strip it and go from bare wood.  What's the plan?
