Free Music Theory Educational Materials

While studying, I take many notes.  I then turn these notes into flashcards on Quizlet, which I use to study online.  I have the equivalent of all the info (probably more actually) that you would learn while taking Music Theory 101 loaded up in flashcard form. There are over 350 flashcards on music theory alone in my account.  I'm currently studying music history, and am in the process of making flashcard sets for that as well. 

Quizlet is a free website where you can make, learn, and print flashcards.  You can set it up with your email address or facebook.  I don't let other Quizlet members see my flashcards because the last thing I need is a ton of messages from random people demanding that I make nitpicky little changes to wording and such.  I am going through and editing the sets as I work with them, and I do try to make things clearer and more correct all the time, so I don't really need reminders unless there is some really major glaringly obvious mistake with incorrect information. 

All that said, if anyone wants access to my notes/flashcards, let me know your email address or facebook account, and I will approve you so you can use them.  Doing this stuff is a lot of work, but I actually kind of enjoy it in a nerdy way, and I am totally willing to share with others who are trying to learn.

That's very generous--and mega-cool--of you!  :icon_thumright: Can I PM you my email address? I took "Rudiments of Music" a little while ago, and I could definitely use an organized refresher (as opposed to just randomly flipping through my old text book).

Yeah, I sent them to you in database format.  This is better because you don't have to print them and you can do all kinds of interactive computery stuff with them.  Plus I've been adding music history sets now as well.

So here's the deal folks.  I'm new to the social aspect of the site, but I think all we need to do is become friends on Quizlet, then I have a password I'm using on all my sets that I will give you and you can see them if you type that in.  So if you want in on it, just PM me with your Quizlet info.

I'm going to Selkirk college next year in music, and I need to catch up to some music theory so I can pass the audition, that would be really really appreciated to have these notes (I will vote for you every GotM :laughing7

Ha, I appreciate the sentiment, but it's really not neccessary.  I figure if I'm gonna do it anyways, I might as well let others use it.  It's not like it costs me anything.
