For those with a satin finish body, how does it look after months of play time ?

I'm considering getting a body finish with a satin black finish, the only concern I have is how long that satin finish is going to last.
I would expect it to gloss up to somewhat on the forearm contour, and I'm not quite sure how great that would look over time (especially with black).

For those with a satin body, how is that satin look holding up after months of play time ?
Thanks

Dunno...mine's getting put together in the shop by a pro!
Warmoth should really start throwing in some ugly pieces in the showcase every now and then.
Stuff is too nice  :icon_thumright: for me to risk wrecking it!

I've had mine for, I don't know, six month or almost a year now I believe and it still looks the same as when new.
The satin paint formula Warmoth uses is not your usual stuff. It's not an ordinary gloss paint that's sanded back to give a satin look (the kind that will get more glossy after time).
This feels like it's satin all the way through.

Mine's flawless after six-ish months of pretty heavy use without a pickguard. I have fairly sweaty hands and rest the fingers of my right hand on the top when I play and there's no sign of any wear.

Same here; my satin body hasn't started shining up yet. Granted, it isn't my main guitar, but it is obvious that the formula for the bodies is harder/different from the satin nitro W uses for spraying the necks. The Nitro necks will shine up over a bit of time, but the one satin body I have seems like it is pretty resistant to wear. I say go for it!

I'm particularly happy to see the responses to this thread. Although my satin Tele is still in the build phase, I was a little concerned that the satin might shine up after a while, much like the satin lacquer I use on my necks. docteurseb, i think you should go for it!  :icon_thumright:

I've been playing my black to clear/black satin soloist for a few months (a lot) and the finish on it is as good as new. Finger marks don't even seem to stick on it like other satin finishes.
