For the Blues Dudes

I've seen these guys live at our music festival we have every year, and they're AWESOME blues players, i was incredibly suprised when i walked up to a sound like that in this day and age, i was like "Heck, these guys can't be that much older than me!"  :icon_thumright:
you all should definitely check these guys out, watch some videos if you haven't already

Huh. I thought it was the musical equivalent of watching paint dry. The only interesting part was the bridge on the guy's guitar which I didn't recognise.

The soloist overplayed wildly and the the backing guys sounded like a random internet midi file. But hey that's just, like, my opinion, man! I'm curious as to what you find interesting with this music?

Well i'll be honest, i didn't watch this video you put up til just now, but i have some fuse special with them on it that's a lot better than this, but it's a good live act, there's a lot more intimate nature with the crowd at the big festival shows so i have a draw to them after seeing them like that, the drummer was going a lot crazier at the show i saw, he was pulling some Mitch Mitchell style stuff which was really cool, and the solos were a lot louder, and gave it that "taking the blues into outer space " woodstock kind of sound.

and i listen to a lot of SRV, so i just have a soft spot for the blues, i think for their age these guys were doing some good stuff, it wasn't gonna change the face of the blues or the music industry or anything, but it's a hell of a lot better and more soulful than the Jonas Bros of the same age demographic  :laughing11:

but alas, these guys aren't together anymore. they had a good run and i was glad to see them when i could, but where they faltered makes time for some other young buck to stand up and try to take the reins of the da blooz.  :icon_thumright:

I'm kind of tired of "SRV-Again" blues - it's fun to play and jam but as a listener, it does get old (to me). Blues can encompass quite a bit more variety than that.

I saw Davy Knowles do an acoustic set opening for Jeff Beck last year. He's a good player and I'm interested to see what he does next.

To the OP:

NO soul...the guitarist was just OK - but could come around.  The drummer and (especially) the bassist were sub-par, and not locked.  I live in Kansas City - a major hub of jazz, blues, and BBQ.  We have LOTS of folks of better talent  :dontknow:
