Florida peeps..

I used to work in the FWB/Pensacola area, lived briefly in Destin. The folks there I've talked to are all good. I'm surprised they didn't have more damage as close to Apalachicola as they are.

I got an email from a friend of mine who just moved to St. Petersburg. He didn't mention weather at all. He did send me a photo of him in a sunlit swimming pool. Things must be fine there. I did see at least three bees swimming around on the surface so he may not be fine for long if one of those gets in his hair. :laughing7:

The hurricane hit predominantly up north on the panhandle with the worst of it passing through the stretch between Pensacola and Tallahassee. While the storm system was big, greater Florida, including Jacksonville in the northeast, Tampa/St.Pete further south on the Gulf coast, and Orlando inland and north of Tampa, were spared from the worst of the storm.  Folks in southern Georgia would have fared much worse than the bulk of Floridians.

NC actually had more people without power than GA and FL combined. Nothing compared with the windward side devestation that hit the shoreline, but odd nonetheless.
