First maple neck stain/finish

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I purchased a maple neck from Warmoth and I'd like to finish it. It's pretty light, so I also want to tint or stain it. Would this Minwax stuff that I already have work?

For the final finish, I'm either going with Tru Oil or Minwax wipe on poly. Any pros or cons either way?
