Finishing F Hole on Thinline

Hi everyone,

I’m in the midst of finishing up another Tru Oil coat on my Tele Thinline and got to wondering what you all do with the thinline cavity. I used a very small brush to apply the dye to the edge along the cavity and then also with Tru Oil, but wasn’t sure of anything past that. What do you all do?

I just ended up using a small paintbrush and applied a thin coat of shellac to the inside cavity of the F hole. Actually came out well with a slight amber tone which matches well with the finish.

Would you be willing to share a picture of that? I’ve been tossing around the idea of using something to darken the inside of the F-Hole in my Thinline Jazzmaster, I’d love to see how it turned out.
