I just want to say thank you to everyone who helped me out with the few questions I've posted on this board. I'm proud to say that my Warmoth Strat is finished and I absolutely love it.
Specifications:
Solid black korina body
Tobacco burst body, front and back
Pau ferro (Musikraft) neck
Gold hardware all around
Pickups: Neck: Duncan SSL-5, Middle: Duncan Five-Two, Bridge: Duncan Hot Rails
This thing sounds like a beast and it is extremely versatile. I wanted to make a guitar that I can take out and play at shows and not be worried about having stolen. I'm not wealthy by any means and with guitar prices going up the way they are I've been growing more anxious about showing off my two babies. This Strat fits a nice middle ground between my Rick 360 and my Gibson SG. In fact, when I'm using the rails it sounds almost exactly like my SG. While it doesn't have the darkness of my Rickenbacker (despite being jangly, 360's are very close sounding to Les Pauls, They just have a bit more "chime"), this guitar is probably going to be my go-to and main guitar. From now on, if I ever want to buy a new guitar, I'm going Warmoth!
It is probably one of the heaviest guitars I've played. I'm guessing it's close to 14-15 lbs. and it feels more like a solid Les Paul than anything. I like the extra weight as I'm a pretty tall and built guy. My other guitars feel too light and fragile to me in a way. The tone is absolutely amazing and full. I'm so happy with my pickup choices.
This forum has been so amazing and helpful and I would have never made my dream guitar possible without you guys. Thank you so much!
