Local Sears ad had a misprint...so naturally I hadda go down there, and insist on the price  :laughing7:

Not a great compressor, just a little tank with the compressor head on a dolly.  But, at $190 off.... it was the best $69.99 I've spent in a long time!~ Even came with a decent hose and a few crappy but workable accessories for it.

The idea is to get set up more for spraying from a gun, not rattlecan... serving double duty for tire filling and occasional air wrench use.

Nice, I used a flat tire as rationalization for the purchase a few weeks ago.
It was a stretch.

Was out pricing desiccant filters for the spray rig today... there's some nice disposables for about $8 each at Grainger.

Do you think one would be necessary?

I have been using a HVLP.
I did the airbrush to do bursts mainly.

I'd go return it at another Sears without the receipt.  Of course they would only give you store credit.  Most likely they'd give you the return value at regular price and not the misprint.  If so, then insist you pay'd the full price.  You now have $250+ at Sears for $69.99.  You could even go to another Sears, buy another compressor with the misprint ad for $69.99 and have $190 at Sears left over.

Now now... taking advantage of their mistake, I can do once.  Big time greedy, not my thing.

The desiccant - everyone I've talked to has said its a must have when doing lacquer, and I'll qualify that, in this part of the world, which is the teeming crawling infested steamy Florida wasteland.  They're only $16 for two, and you fit them with male/female quick connects to put them right behind the gun.  IOW, removable for tire inflation, etc etc.

Next time I go north, or maybe Friday afternoon, I've gotta get over to Glue Products and see what they have in small spray equipment.

I bought a Craftsman air compressor off Craig's List several months ago.  It's been absolutely great to have.  I found plenty of uses for it.  Even though I decided to do a wipe on poly clear coat, I still use the air compressor to blow off the dust between coats.

I was pretty jealous of the guy I bought it from.  First, he had a beautiful house.  Second, he had a three car garage that made for a huge work space.  Third, he was replacing the 25 gal air compressor I bought with one that had a 60 gal tank.  Fourth, sitting in his garage was a good sized CNC router that would be perfect for making guitars.

I think if you delete your account everything you posted reverts to "Guest."

Nice necropost, anyway.  I think this one-post-ghost Perronotto was/is a bot or at least an uninteresting humanoid, posting links to the air compressors he/it's peddling.

now go to Harbor Freight and pick up some air guns.  I have used them with great success.  The key is keeping them clean.  Simply blast some straight paint thinner thru them when done.... :icon_thumright:
