Here's a question from someone with obviously very limited electro experience:

My Danelectro has two lipstickers. The middle pos. of the switch stills yields single coil hum. Would there be any effect whatsoever if I turned around one of the pups?

only if you flip the pickup upside down so the wires and bracket face up towards the strings.... but then it wont put out much sound... but seriously if you can open the pickup and flip the magnet/coil assembly upside down it will change the phase of the hum by 180 degrees. that should be possible on a lipstick without too much modification since the coil is wrapped directly over the magnet which should have a symmetrical shape.
